Canyonlands & Arches

Yoga and hiking journey

October 9th-13th, 2017
5 Days/4 Nights plus add a night in Moab, UT before and after the journey

The great wide open is calling, this time into the canyon lands for yoga, hiking and meditation and to soak up nature’s medicine. We kick things off at Arches National Park and head out for a hike in Devil’s Garden, an area famous for its high concentration of spectacular arches. After yoga and lunch we continue to Canyonlands where our guides have set up camp at a private campsite well away from others, complete with private restrooms and running water. Dinner under the stars every night, yoga each morning and evening. Here we spend the days exploring the heart of the Needles, the rock spires of Chesler Park and hike Cave Spring Trail to see some ancient pictographs and practice of course practice yoga. We also check out Slickrock Foot Trail for spectacular views and some “slickrock” hiking. Nearby Joint Trail, features exciting, deep crevices that sometimes are no more than 3 or 4 feet wide which makes up for another fabulous adventure for those that like some more extreme hiking.

Before we bid farewell to beautiful Canyonlands, we get a sunrise start along the Peekaboo Trail to a wonderful expanse of slickrock for a morning yoga session. That night we will stay at a beautiful lodge retreat along the banks of the Colorado River, surrounded by majestic sandstone cliffs, and enjoy a casual dinner out.

On our final day, we head out for a grand finale of fun hikes and yoga in dramatically different destinations. We start the day with a hike to Fisher Towers, take in Castle Valley, the Book Cliffs and the Colorado River. Before returning to Moab, the Yoga Journey comes to a close in the scenic area of Morning Glory Natural Bridge, a canyon featuring 400-foot canyon walls streaked with desert varnish and lush vegetation.
